“Fascinating and full of contrasts” is how the Michelin Guide jury describes the dishes created by head chef Michael Kempf, to whom it awarded a second star in 2013.
Kempf, a student of the famous chefs Lothar Eiermann and Dieter Müller, was just 26 years old when he received his first star; in 2010 he was voted Berlin Master Chef and in 2014 he was crowned Chef of the Year. For him, a dish has to be almost salacious in terms of taste, yet austere in terms of calories. He favors meat, fish, vegetables, and wild herbs sourced from the region. He can also elevate vegetarian cuisine to a culinary art.
The bright and airy restaurant (with summer terrace and bamboo garden on the roof of the hotel) exudes a relaxed ambience which inspires promising conversation at the table, whether business or pleasure.
