Matthias Diether can certainly be called an ambitious and very successful chef. He holds one Michelin star and 17 points by Gault Millau.
Before he started his career at the first floor in 2010, he worked together with the three-starred chef Dieter Müller (at Schlosshotel Lerbach), and with Sven Elversfeld (at the Aqua in the Ritz Hotel, Wolfsburg), who likewise has three Michelin stars. Under Diether’s direction the first floor has been ranked as “Best German Restaurant of the Year” and Diether himself as “Chef of the Year 2014”.
Gunnar Tietz, the sommelier who received the “Best of the Best Award” by Gault Millau, is on part with Matthias Diether. He will gladly advise you when choosing from the 1,500 treasures of his wine cellar.
